John,
I had a flat vine that grew to 17 inches in width before I chopped her
off and buried the end. There were dozens of females to pollinate on that
vine and there was no success. However on the secondaries I pollinated and
grew 2- 500 pound plus fruit. All the secondaries were round vines. The 2
fruit I selected to remain on the vine grew to be nice round with orange
color. This seed was the LaRue 915. (from 1996)
