Tell him that there is a very useful website by AltaVista that by simply
pasting either plain text or the url of a website you wish to view and
hitting the translate button, it will do the translating for him. I have
used this a number of times to communicate with a german friend and to
look at some spanish language horticultural websites.
While it is not perfect, it does a very good job so at least you get the
bulk of the information. This way he could look at all the pumpkin
websites, scan and translate all the articles from the archives and even
join the list. It works with english, spanish, french, german and
portugese.
Check it out, I think everybody will find it a very useful utility AND
it's free.
