T''is the weekend here in Aotearoa (the land of the large Orange
Pumpkin). Number one pumpkin put on 2 1/2 inches yesterday in this hot
and humid weather. Rain is at an all time low now and we are imposing
watering restrictions on the main town of Hawera (population 9000).

I hope you all have a good and cosy weekend I am off to see Titanic and
attend a BBQ. I will need to check out the well first and crank up the
pump to see what comes out. Lots and lots of foliage forming and Old
Yeller's pumpkin has definately pollinated and is still comparitively
four times the size of its counterparts. A second pumpkin has pollinated
as a reserve on a lateral. I am have a job controlling the laterals and
I do not want to walk amongst them too much.

Heavy foliar feeding is going down here and the plants are obviously
responding well.

The stage is set - let the growing begin !!!!
