DMSO was a big hit in the late 70's and early 80's, when it's beneficial
healing properties were discovered.

The University of San Francisco was involved in research on DMSO as a possible
trauma drug which could be utilized to prevent further nerve damage in extreme
injuries as well as heal. They focused their research on spinal cord injuries,
and, from what I remember being published at the time, was quite promising.
Anyone know more?

PS.....I know people today who apply it externally at a bruise site because of
it's rapid healing properties. One caveat.....we are talking about the use of
medical grade DMSO, NOT industrial grade.
