RE: what's the white stuff?

Joe,

Captan can cause permanent eye damage. It can also generate allergic
reactions upon contact with exposed skin. It has caused cancer in
laboratory rats and mice (what hasn't?). Use glasses and gloves when
using this!

Captan has proven very effective in preventing fungal infections but not
effective in eradicating existing ones. I believ there are other
products on the market that work just as well but are safer to both you
and the environment.

As I have mentioned before, rules leniency varies from site to site. I
have seen pumpkins with gaping holes and gobs of Captan and Sevin pasted
to them qualify and take ribbons in WPC and GPC events.
