It appears we have a number of young growers competing, and doing well (Kyla
LaRue grew an UOW 915 in '95, and Christa Parks grew an 816 in '98). We currently
have a wager between East and West (Nuts vs Syrup), how about young verses old.
We the young group would allow anyone to join that wants to be classified as young
(I classify myself as young at 17). And take on anyone else who prefers being
classified as old. This may not be a very safe wager considering the average age
of the top ten for the past years has been well over 40, but this may make the
younger growers work harder. If I don't split my 700-800 pounders before
weighoff, and Brett gets the stump out of his way we could do well. Any other
young growers out there ready to join the crusade against the aged. Just some
thoughts, this may not fly, but it may spark some enthusiasm.
