Fast growing seeds?

A young lady who works at the California State Fair is interested in finding
out if there is a variety of seed that might not produce as large fruit but
would ripen faster. They are interested in have a junior competition for the
kids at this years state fair. I told her that I was not familiar with
another variety that grows any faster but I would ask. They are looking to
have a weigh-off at the Fair over labor day weekend. The will also have a
Giant Pumpkin patch as part of this years fair!! They will be working day and
night to grow a pumpkin to bring to our weigh-off.
They have a captive audience of about 600 elementary school children who they
hope will take this on as a class project as well as personal projects. Any
help would be greatly appreciated.
