The Anderson seed was the 634 that I'm looking for information on. .
To all Southern Hemisphere Growers and a few Northern Hemisphere Growers as
well.
At this point after fruit set you just have to balance the growth going to
the vines and that going to the pumpkin. To grow a world class pumpkin here
is a guide on how fast it should be growing. To know how much pruning the
tertiary vines you have to do and how much fertilizer and water you have
to use the following table as your guide. I assume you know what over the
top measurements are.
Note a 10 LB pumpkin has over the top measures of 70 inches.
Note these are average growth rates over a 5 day period.
Days from 10 lbs. Average Growth Rate per Day to get a Champion
Pumpkin.
0-5 2.5 lbs./day
5-10 10
10-15 22-24
15-20 24-27
20-25 23-27
25-30 21-25
30-35 17-20
35-40 13-16
40-45 10-12
45-50 8-10
50-55 6-8
55-60 5-6.5
60-65 3.5-5
65-70 2.5-3.5
70-75 1.8-2.2
75-80 1-1.4
Totaling these growth rates against the days gets you between a 850 LB to
1000 + LB result.
Good Luck.
