I asked the list about this a couple months ago, and heard from many people
who grew BIG pumpkins in little spaces; this was very encouraging to me...

Tim B. grew 2 AG plants that produced a 598, 581, plus a 350, and est. 800,
plus a watermelon plant in only 520 sq. ft. The plant with the 800
was pruned to about 200-250 sq ft.

Tom B. grows about 800 lbs of pumpkin in a 16'x30' backyard strip.

Glenn grows in about 450 sq. ft.

Beth R. grew 261 and 190 pounders with limited time in 400 sq. ft.

Rocky R. grew a huge 879 pounder in a space the size of a kids' swingset-
check out an amazing picture of his big-AG in a little-patch at:

So don't let your 450 sq. ft. deter you.
The key is good seed; get some and plant it!
