Re: quandry

john, if you really want to keep the bigger fruit you can make up a support platform from 2+4s beside the vine and make it taller than the vine and large enough to support  your pumpkin as it grows realizing your going to have to add more support as it grows. a bit of a hassle but it can be done if  it HAS to be.   glad to hear of another grower on the island .     craig    chemainus / van isle

Hi folks,

I currently have one large AG plant doing really well.  I have on the main vine a fruit about 6 feet out that I pollinated two weeks ago that is now about 7 inches in diameter.  I have another about 8 feet out that I pollinated last week that is about two inches across and coming on strong.  One prob with the bigger fruit is that it is growing right on top of the vine.  Any advice on what to do axe the bigger one in favor of the younger one further out?  It will be a hassle re orientating the vine so that the older one is to the side or below the main vine.
