All is not lost yet. There have been plenty of stump less wonders in the past.
You may not get a world record out of it, but it can still produce a good size
fruit.
Keep what is left as intact as possible. Applying Captan was the right thing to
do. You would be surprised at the amount of nutrients that can still pass
through a broken vine. The leaves will probably shrivel for a day or two and
then recover. You can bury the vine at the break or leave it open. I would
suggest burying it.
