Randy: Like most beetles, they are in the soil as grubs in the larval form
and they feed on plant roots, so yes to some degree.

I have seen many cuc beetles this year and they're usually in the
process of making more beetles. And all the beetles I see are all they
same size. Because they are beetles, they must have some larval stage.
Where are these baby beetles? What do they look like? Do they harm the
plant in the larval stage?
