Tip up tip

Here's my two cents on the subject...

Because so many people are experiencing this problem, it probably has
something to do with with some common environmental factor -- probably
rain.

My guess is that with so much rain, the plants are over-eager and vines
are growing faster than their usual rates (mine certainly are; I have to
shut my windows at night because the rustling sound of my vines growing
keeps the family awake).

My solution: I keep a small log (maybe 2lbs) from the wood pile laying
across the vine about 6" from the tip. As the tip of the vine grows, I
move the log forward. It keeps the tip low to the ground. No breaks.
