Re: Help!

Marc,

What you describe sounds like a cucumber beetle,
and yes, they are damaging.

Subject: Help!

Hi list,

I know we've discussed bug that have dots and stuff, but I need help
with a bug that is striped. Poking around in the pumpkin patch, I found a
bug this morning on my AG plant. It's about the size of a ladybug but oval
not round. It has a small black head with 2 long antennas. The neck is
yellow and the body has 5 stripes, black, yellow, black, yellow and black.
It is a winged bug, and the legs look yellow with the underside of the body
black.

Is this bug friend or foe? I found another one on a different pumpkin
plant,
so there may be more around. Any help is appreciated, Thanks!
