Re: Help!!!!!!!!!!

Josh....start turning the main ever so gently and gradually around the
perimeter of the patch......side vines will be a problem so i would cut them
off right away after the bend...this is called bordering and will allow for
extra time to get flowers. The side vines you have before the turn should be
cut back a couple feet from the perimeter that the main will travel so as not
to interfere w/th main. The other options are to set fruit on the side
vines, but i would imagine the width of the patch is small too.....probably so
small that you havent developed females there either. You could let a side
vine do the border thing too...and I would...jus in case the main doesn't do
it for you.
In the future, with a smaller sized patch, you may want to get more into the
physiological tendecies of individual seeds...it seeems some seeds tend to
fruit earlier than others......by talking to other growers this info will
become available and helpful.
The third and most radical to most growers out there.......is to grow a
squash !! Fruiting characteristics seem to show early and often for
fruit....compact plants.I deal for smaller patches. Ok guys....let me have it
!!!!...........Glenn -"glutton for punishment" Andrews
