San Jose Report
Hi friends,
I am very encouraged today. I measured the largest remaining fruit on my 793
Hester, and it came out at 60 inches. And this is the 20th day after
polination. So statistically I have a run at an 800 + pounder. This is good
because in trying to slide a moisture barrier under an even larger fruit a
few days ago, I snapped it off from the vine. (I think I said something like,
"Well, golly, will you look at that," or some words to that effect.
The 681 Stellpflug, which grows a half of each day in the shade, continues to
come along. It has four small fruit which I will hopefully watch grow to 150
pounds or so and give the to grandchildren and friends.
And that is it from the President and CEO of the San Jose Urban Growers
Coalition, small yard division, (membership, 1, and growing).
