Once again Mr.Heilman you are WAY of base.Although I am a gentleman,a half
acre of GS's is still just a dream. I live in suburbian Nassau
County...suburb of NYC.
Very nice progressive educated area with all the ammenities (including
taxes) .....except available land. Last year i grew on an acre----but had to
drive 43 miles each way to get there. This year I'm back in my own little
backyard patch...37 x 18 or so,depending on which side vines I can disguise
as tomato plants.(you have to try this one next year: (Wow,Honey...look at
that zucchinni plant !...and the yellow squash looks good too !)(although I
prefer the zucchinni)
   I have ...get this....THREE plants in my patch...one gets about 30 x
18,the other gets to run a main only...around the back half of the border to
the patch (pollinator plant) . The third was the plant that was to be culled
when the main plant was chosen....but,I kept a side vine and grew it out the
patch...made a left hand turn down the area between my nieghbors house and
mine and is currently entering the front yard. The only question is whether
to go east on Beech St. or west...and how am I gonna cross the nieghbors
driveways.....I think I'll go east-its towards the weighoff...............So
thats it...urban grower looking to sharecrop,tennant farm,serf,etc...but
stuck in a 18x36ish with 2-3 plants............G
