rates..
Wayne, The folks up in the PNW don't have fast
growth rates and they consistently grow giants. They get that slow steady
growth all season long. Now here in CA we have several climate zones. In the
central valley we are hot and dry making the pumpkins jump out of the
ground. It's not unusual to have 5-6" growth on our pumpkins each day.
Near the coast they are cooler and tend to have a longer growing season with
3-4" growth each day. Jon

List I think the benchmarks of 20".10

temperatures are fairly high around 80-85 degrees..but what is a good
guage if your temperatures are below seasonal norms.....I think I
remember Wayne Hackney mentioning the number of degree days as a
guide....is not possible to grow a real biggy over a longer period at a
slower rate...........any
thoughts..??? /smaller>
