Growth
Hi Glenn-good question.Sure I find I get tired of it all at times and wonder
if it is worth the effort. But come spring each year how can an addict not
start a few carefully choosen seeds and then once having started how can one
not try to give it their best effort?
All a good year means to me is that I have more confidence in my garden yet
realistically I know I may never ever again have the good luck to top 1999.
We tend to think this year will be similiar to last year but history shows
that last years top names rarely can repeat and many newer growers will
surface and be new top guns for a year.
Come the fall weight-offs and you will see this is true---Cheers--AE

Good to hear that the thrill does not dissipate after being in the game for
a few years.
I would be inclined to think that it may escalate until a breakthrough
season happens and a major milestone is reached. I suppose it is different
for everybody - but do you find that the thrill factor of watching these
wonders "do their thing" subsides over the years? After a season like you
had last year - reaching the 1000 pound plateau - your goals must be set
higher and higher I would think.
