Northern Mn report

Brrrrr, 38 degrees this morning in Northern Minnesota. Not great for the
pumpkin patch, but lets hope it'll be short-lived. June was great weather
wise though. Had best growth ever for June looking at past growth records.
My choice of plants was Eaton 780 and Sproule 968. Got a late start this
spring with moving and such, but both are jamming and will be pollinating
this week. Both M.V's are over 16', and fortunatly this year I have no flat
vines. My well is 168' deep and the water is 43 degrees when it comes out.
Bought a 250 gallon stock tank to warm water in this year before watering.
Works like a charm, and it's great to grab a beer and lounge in on the few
hot days we get here. Have not seen any harmful bugs in plot yet. Areas near
me in the past have reported this problem, but it hasn't come my way yet and
I hope they'll stay away. Between the chickens, horses, dogs, cats, remodeling
barn and house, I'm hopeing I'll have the time to give my plants the care
they'll need now that we're coming into the production part of our great
hobby. Happy Growing! Pumpkinpiper
