Funky Leaves...
Greetings from the northern section of the PGPGA ....... Some trouble
here earlier last month has set me back a bit, I have plants growing,
but nothing like years past.. I am not sure if it was an over
fertilization or what, but I came home one day, and all 5 of my plants
had drooped badly. I watered the daylights out of them to try and flush
whatever ailed them, and it did save them, but not sure what , if
anything I can do to get close to where I should be.
Here is the symptom.... 85 percent of my new growth gives off a
beuatiful vine, I have some going outwards of up to 6 to 10 feet , but
the leaves take 2 weeks to open, and when they do, they look almost
mutated. It is weird to see a main vine, but with no leaves canopying
over the top of it. I am setting fruit like crazy on my 771, but without
the leaf capacity needed to generate big time photsynthetic materials, I
am not sure if this season will amount to much. I have one fruit,
somewhere between softball and volleybal size, but it is 6 inches from
the end of my main that I had to terminate.
I will have pics this weekend, but if anyone has any clue as to why
these mutated leaves happened, I would love to know... My personal
opinion is that I overfertilized one nite while doing miracle gro in the
dark...I also sprayed with sevin the day before, but I ruled that out
when I didnt see any burn on existing leaves, just the drooping leaves
which I believe was heavy due to the over fert.... Now I am only curious
as to why the mutant leaves are kicking out......
