I am having problems with figuring out the size of my pumpkin and its growth
rate.
It is putting on several inches a day and is pulling the runner right out of
the ground on a daily basis. I keep adjusting it but am worried I will brake
the stem if I don't do something more long term quickly. I can only adjust
the vine at 4:00 am or 7:00 PM as work takes up my whole day six days a week,
I am nervous because the temperature is so cool, 61 degrees at night and 73
or so during the day. I could really use some help please....
The pumpkin (Carnage) is on the 791 Glasier it tapes out to 36 inches
circumference stem to flower and 30 inches circumference around the belly
like the OTT measurement on the 12 Th. day after pollination. according to
the belly measurement it is putting on three and a half inches+ a day and the
pumpkin is taking on the appearance of a barrel. since I have never grown
pumpkins that were of good genetic background and I am obviously not too good
at the early season stuff I am a little worried that I am going to have
problems. Any ideas would be great !!! Carnage is pulling the runner up so
hard that the roots are coming out of the ground at its first leaf margin and
is stressing the other two on either side. I have three more pumpkins set
within two feet from it down the primary and they are packing on weight just
as well. If I sever the roots at the first pumpkin to relieve stress then I
may be sorry if it doesn't make the cut. Anyone have any suggestions or ideas
PLEASE help !!!
Thank you very much in advance...
