Thanks alot Don.  I really and truly appreciate the help. I wanted to e-mail you privately but I had no luck with finding your e-mail. 
 
I ended up buying Triazicide and putting it on Saturday.  What rate do you use?  I tried 2 T / Gallon.
 
My female finally opened this morning and I was so excited until I scoured the patch and found no male ready.  I rubber banded it and checked it the first minute I got home from work to find the bloom starting to shrivel. 93 degrees and humid. I had one that opened the other day and it still had some pollen in it so I said what the hell and tried it.  What are your thoughts?  Maybe wait for my next female on the main?    Will likely have male open tomorrow.  Next female (?)

Prune all vines or better yet pinch off all budding vines coming off secondary vines (it's easier and takes less time than carrying around arm fulls of tertiary vines and wondering what to do with them). Prune or pinch as soon as they come out. Theory: Main and secondary (vines coming off main) vines feed the pumpkin, tertiary (vines coming off secondaries) take away from full potential growth and make a tangled mess.
I used Bug b Gone last year containing ESFENVALERATE, and never saw a borer or cuke beetle (active ingredient in Asana) better yet a new product sold at Lowe's or WalMart is Triazicide (lambda cyhalothrin) active ingred. in Warrior T but at 1/20th the dose. Is working fine for me, three moths I witnessed wouldn't land on plant for more than a split second and no eggs found. Wait for your female to open. You can tell the eve before since the flower swells way up as if about to open. Get up very early and rub pollen around center of female blossom gently. Hope this helps.

Hello list.  Sorry to here about all the weather damage recently.  Ive been lucky here in OH. 
 
Can someone assist with explaining how to prune the vines if I should be pruning. 
 
And I also wanted to know if anyone has had good insect control using garden dust like Sevin and Bug b gone.
 
Had a male open for the first time yesterday, but my females didnt open do I just wait for both a new male and the female to open the same day?
