RE: 869 Calai flat vine
See the thread "RE: 1020 Papez (& its roommate 594 Smith, the Octipumpkins;
LONG LIVE THE ebay ESCAPEE 1062 RIVARD)" from early last week; similar
problems on the 1020 Papez, a daughter of the 846 Calai. Is it the Calai, or
is it coincidental, or maybe the seeds got irradiated in the mail this year
popping lots of doubles/flats/mutants?

Subject: 869 Calai flat vine
Has anyone planted the 869 Calai? I had a very strange thing happen to
me, never seen this before. My Calai 869 shot out secondary vine pretty
close to the stump and flat vined. I let it grow some (about 8') but it
split into two more flat vines. I cut this secondary off today. The
rest of the plant is growing like gang busters.
I planted this seed last year and did not experience this strange event.
Anyone have a similar experience?
