What are borers good for? This is a serious question. Mother nature
usually has reasons for things - checks and balances and all that. But
in
the larger picture, what do borers and cucumber beetles contribute? It
has
to be something or they wouldn't exist, right? Do they keep cucurbits
from
taking over the world?

Please, I am NOT looking for emotional responses to the damage these
critters do. I know most of you despise them. Okay. Save your venting
for
some other thread. This is just an honest-to-gosh question about
biology.
And for that matter, what are mosquitos good for??
