Vine growing/not pumpkin

To the list:
     I set a pumpkin on my Pukos July 1st and it took quite nicely.  It has grown to about softball size.  It seems though that the feeder vine that is attached to the pumpkin from the main vine is growing and not the pumpkin.  Am I just anticipating to much right now from the pumpkin?  Is the vine growth on the money?  And will they both join in on the fun shortly?
