Hi list! I have noticed that i have some cracked vines on one of my plants. why do vines crack? to much water? The crack is on the main vine. If a pumpkin grows on that vine and it is cracked will the vine break? should i cut off where it is cracked and hope a pumpkin grows on another vine?

First is the vine cracked open?
If so I would go to another vine to set fruit.
If the vine has a small surface crack. I  would take a Little beach and mix it with water and clean it up, or if it is worse I use funguside. You can do the same for a crack that is open but it may not set the biggest fruit. After I clean them up I bury them. I also water them with a little fuguside within the next few days in the area of the break.
I know I am going to get more "you shouldn't do that letters for recomending something that may hurt the good bugs"
Consider I have went on vacation for a week using only natural methods and came back to loose a whole years work.
Damn I hate losing all my Pumpkins!
Good Luck
