If it's healthy and you'd like to save it!
Try getting ahold of some grafting wax .Melt the wax in a small pan and apply when still hot and workable ,or work with your hands till applyable,it's a mess doing it by hand,the pan works better! and let cool ,the wax won't hurt the stump,but try not to get too much inside and seal the outside good.Good luck.John.
