ABOUT PESTS!

Hi everyone,
I brought up the suggestion of Havaheart traps like so many others did on the list.  Their great for squirrels and other similar pests.  One thing everyone should remember though when and if they trap is that most states have rules about trapping and removing wildlife from one property to another, so no one should advertise the fact that they do so.
Several varmints have met their untimely demise when my wife hasn't been around too.  Becoming a good shot with a pump pellet gun works wonders.  The weapon is quiet and works quite well.  It is unfortunate when a pests runs headlong into the pellet, but if they are so destined after receiving numerous warnings, such as having rocks and the like thrown their way then they get what they ask for.
Also I will relate a story that is true about a person i know from a relatively urban area a short distance from where I live that had a terrible problem with woodchucks.  He got the local animal control and the state involved and they were unable to help much and the fees charge by private exterminators were exorbitant because of the permitting process involved.  So what this guy did was to try and drown the chucks.  That didn't work well though.  The first chuck was under for 15 minutes and survived.  This person I know wanted to get rid of the chucks but he is not a cruel man, so he tried another way.  He built a wooden structure big enough to put a trap into and at it had hoses attached to it.  He attached it to his muffler and ran the exhaust through the box and the chuck died in just a few minutes basically just falling asleep.
I just thought I'd mention that.  It certainly isn't for everyone and probably not for most if not all of us, but its something to think about when giving thought to the various ways that people come up with to exterminate the pests that invade our property.
