my pumpkins
Thanks guys, I would like to stay and talk pumpkins. John G, my pumpkins
are doing very well. My neighbors are amazed at how quick they have grown.
Im not growing an AG this year, but I will next year. The variety of pumpkin
I am growing is Howden. I have lots of female flowers, and male flowers, and
many baby pumpkins. I was amazed at how big across this varietys leaves get,
and how beautiful they are. I have 10 plants out in the patch. On my
parking strip to be exact. With a few of the pumpkins I wont have to worry
about putting anything underneath the pumpkins because they will end up
growing on the grass. I have decided to expand the patch next year. Lots of
work, but it will be worth it I think. I was afraid that the vines would
grow out into the street( they were heading that way) but I was able to turn
the vines so they grow down the parking strip instead. Has anyone had leaves
that had kind of silvery blotches on them? Could it be from the fertilizer?
Im using 20-20-20. Other than that the leaves and vines are extremely
healthy. Barbara
