Hi Dave,
I have two plants in my Yin and Yang patch and they are about
as opposite as you can get. The patch is 1,600 square feet so
each plant gets 800 square feet.
I prune secondaries as necessary to get a 24" spacing between
the secondaries. On my Butterball plant I've only had to prune
only two or three secondaries. The growth habit and internode
spacing is almost perfect on this plant.
On my other plant Baby Beluga (1230 Daletas) I've had to prune
in excess of every other secondary to get the same 24" spacing.
The vine is growing very slowly and has only six inches
between leaf nodes. The vine and leaves are huge and heavy
however - the most ponderous and powerful looking plant I've
ever seen - just very slooow....
