Thanks for your replies.  I tested the PH - it's 6.8 around the stump area and
around 6.2 - 6.3 toward the end of the primary vine.  I've added some lime
there, but it looks like PH is not the problem with the aborts.

Did you get a soil test?  Have you checked your ph . Last year I had the

same problem and  my ph had gone down to 4.5 near the stumps and 6ft away it

was 6.5 added liquid lime around stumps and got a 613 lbs out of it. Thank

God for Jim. B. with the lime he helped me out big time.
