Re: Water Logged

Matt,
It is not uncommon to see water emerge from a leaf stem when cut. I think the plant naturally stores water in the stem. It then absorbs it as needed in hotter wheather. Good luck, Jim NHGPGA

I'm growing a Lembke 808, and I trimmed a leaf and its stem from a vine
today because it was too close to an emerging pumpkin, and when I cut it
off, I noticed that the remaining vine below was completely filled with
water. Although a first time grower, this seemed quite odd to me. The
plant hadn't received water in two days in 95F heat. (That particular
location is 50 miles from where I'm at, so I can't get there every day.)
Does this happen from too much water at one time? Is this a bad thing?

Many Thanks!
