Will Warrior Kil Groundhog?
I KNOW I have a groundhog under my shed but can't get at it. My AG plants
are now about 8ft from the shed. No damage yet to the pumpkins/plants but my
melon plants just beyond & slightly overlapping my AG's are losing leaves
daily. No leaves, just a vine (with no tip anymore) and bare leaf stems. My
sunflowers, only a couple feet tall & a few feet away, have shredded leaves
& some are knocked or pulled down, almost as if something pulled them
downward & chewed on the leaves. Someone suggested it was a rabbit but I've
SEEN a groundhog, 3-4 times now, even this evening. There's about a foot
between the shed & chainlink fence & I put some pots about a foot tall there
to block it off or at least be able to tell if they get knocked over if he
tries passing thru/over. He was almost leaning on them & saw me watching &
turned & went back under the shed. A few days ago, I thought I heard the
neighbors cat between the garage & shed but it was the groundhog; I remained
perfectly still, about 15-20ft away, & he ran over towards the AG's &
started eating some crimson clover at the base of the hill (my hill is about
20ft long & 12" tall at that spot.) He saw me & ran back to the corner of
the shed, but when he saw I didn't move, he returned to the clover. Then the
cat showed up, in prowl/attack mode, but when the cat got up to the edge of
the driveway & saw its size, cat went into sit & watch mode. GH went into
caution mode, stood up, looked at me again, then someone came up the
driveway yelling to me & it ran back to the shed.
It's as if he's going thru the AG patch to get to the melon leaves; I also
found some sunflowers along the opposite side fence in similar shape. Will
it get sick or die if it eats warrior-sprayed plants? I saw a dead rat a
couple years ago near the shed & assumed it got accidently poisoned by
warrior, no other explanation at that time. Seeing I can't see an actual
hole that I can bomb/smoke/hose, what can I do? THIS SHOULDN'T BE HAPPENING!
I'M IN THE MIDDLE OF A BIG CITY, NO WILDLIFE NEARBY (just squirrels.) Gun
was a thought but am about 8 houses from a police station. Any ideas? Thanks
