Hi Bob,
What would be the best height for a shade cloth?
Thanks,
Doug

Try alternating the Daconil with baking soda but go light. Hose end or
compression sprayer. Test a little bit at a time with a weak solution
until you find the right mix.
Jersey already has high humidity so I'm not so sure I would mist. I
would see if I could erect some type of shade as high above the plants
as possible to allow a good air flow but still provide shade.
The brown edges could be a little too much fungicide or just old age.
The leaves nearest to the stump always die off first. Ya just can't stop
the aging process.

I am a central NJ grower with the largest plant (986 Checkon) I've ever
had for
this time of the season: 20' main/2nd pumpkin pollinated yesterday at
16' out,
6 lobe flower.
Despite my use of Daconil fungicide and applications of liquid seaweed,
the
leaves on the first half of the main vine already are showing brown dry
edges.
I'm looking for advice from any and all who have suggestions for
prolonging the
health of the leaves.
It's very high heat here - should I be misting the plant every day, and
risk
powdery mildew arriving early? Thanks in advance for your help.
