RE: bacterial wilt

To shade my vine tips, I put together some cheap shade stands
made out of plastic watering pipe. These are light and can be
repositioned easily. I simply move these forward as the vines
grow.

Some folks set up a misting system on timers. I found that
with a misting system alone I still get sun burn on new growth
so now I just use the shades over new growth and let the plant
droop on hot days.

Pumpkin growers all have jobs, their job is to take proper care
of their plants. Those growers who do not do their job well
will be punished by the pumpkin gods.... Pumpkin plants really
appreciate a little pampering and suitably rewards those
growers who put in the extra effort.
