As your vine grows out the females that are "at the ends of newly growing
vines" will be "in the middle of established vines". The vines will continue to
grow beyond the fruit without any problem. It takes 7-10 days before the
female will open from the time it appears. By that time the vine will already
have grown 5-8' beyond the pumpkin giving the appearance that the pumpkin is in
the middle of the plant.

My female flowers only grow at the ends of newly growing vines. They have
only just started to appear, will more female flowers grow from the middle
of established vines? I am worried that my only fruits will grow at the
extremities of the plant and may not get optimal nutriment from the main
plant because it is so far away!
