Re: shade cloths and misters


Howdy Charles,
As for pumpkin protection, as I mentioned in an early post...I use a tarp  
tent of 6x8 tarps...so that only indirect sunlight gets through.  The hot  sun 
will start the ripening process early..even if it is only hitting a few  spots. 
 As for Misters and such, don't use any of those..even though we are  going 
through some mid-90s temp up in MN!  I normally just insure the  ground stays 
moist(ie...drop .5" of water  30 ft around plant)...also  mulching with grass 
clippings will help beat the heat also.
