Fungus.
Use a copper based fungicide, Daconil, or Captan.
Quit watering over the leaves.

My pumpkins and watermelon leaves have a rusty color to them and
some of the older leaves are dying. The leaf stalks are browning too.
Is it possible to overwater? On one plant even the hairs are rusty.
It
looks
like a yellow ball with red hair, haha. Someone please tell me if
this is
a pre-cursor to disaster.
