soil drenching

I am in the process of attempting to put in a drip irrigation system. I know it
is way to late in the season but I don;t even know how to soil drench anymore
since the plants are huge. I would have to be running over secondaries, terts,
etc. I have hundreds of dollars invested in the material. I haven't even
attempted soil drenching since we have had alot of rain the the ground is very
wet. When the plant was smaller I would use 4 5-gallon bucket with holes
drilled in the bottom. No problem. Now that the plants are out of control I am
not sure what to do. Given the size of the plants, I figure 150 to 200 gallons
at a shot. Any suggestions on what to do that won't be real labor or time
intensive? 150 to 200 gallons per plant is alot of 5-gallon buckets when the
soil dries out.
