Sean, I think that it is mostly myth. Especially carried on by non
growers. Sugar water may atract things you don't want like ants. The
secret is the same as its always been great garden basics and hard
work,weeding and mounding vine. As the great grower Al Eaton put it "the
harder you work the luckier you'll be"
