Weired names: They are growers who produced (grew) the pumpkin
Numbers: It is the weight of the pumpkin and they might give the year
ex> McAlpine 1560 97
This means McAlpine grew a 1560 pound pumpkin in 1997.
If a sentence has two names, then they are talking about female plant
from one grower
and a male plant from another grower. They are trying to create a new
genetic breed by taking the pollen from one plant (male) to the fruit
of the other plant (female).
