Bev -
The pumpkin will grow on its side, and as it gets bigger it will raise the
vine off the ground. So if the vine is straight you will have a problem
getting enough slack.
So before the vine gets too large you should bend it into a "U" shape right
where the pumpkin is. I'm not sure though if the pumpkin should be on the
inside of the"U" or the outside. I tend to think it should be on the
outside. Maybe someone could clarify this.
