chris,...didn't use much fertilizer because his soil was so rich and
balanced.......he foliared a organic fertilizer called "omega" 1-6-6 plus
kelp and maybe some humic acid..........and only 6-7-times............it is
possible to get an outstanding soil report using only organic
fertilizers.........I only spray sevin twice a season if that when there
are out breaks.......but i have been organically farming this place for 20
year and it took 10 years for the place to reach a balanced of pest and
beneficial insects.......this year there are tons of soldier beetles which
eat cucmber beetle larva.....so the cuke beetles are getting
hammered....you have to rotate corps every year.....but i don't with the
AG.....so I may have to spray a fungucide.....someday........I don't put
captan on every crack but do when the stem starts to rot...........now if
it looks like i am going to get a 1000lber I will step up the arsenol the
bigger they get the more nervous i get.......but if your growing them and
want to do it organically it can be done...but you have to watch the plant
like a hawk........squash the squash bug......on and on......brock
