I have a problem, maybe. My vines, still short at about 10 feet, are
getting many female buds, and they are going to flower witin the next
week or so, I think. Should I pick them off?
Many of the buds are within five feet of ground zero.
We have finally had some warm weather for days at time, and things are
looking like the pictures in the books and on the videos.
I am using a drip system for watering, and it seems to be working. The
ground is wet way down deep. However, since my vines are still short,
maybe there is a connection. Any San Francisco Bay Area growers having
similar experience? The reason I chose to drip is that our area is very
prone to powdery mildew, and I wanted to keep the foliage as dry as
possible.

I believe a few years ago Don Black grew a 800+ at 4 or 5 feet.
