yellow die-back

Is it normal for the first three or so leaves on a pumpkin vine to very
gradually turn yellow and die ?They were probably the first true leaves on the
plant when it was transplanted in may.Thanx--------------Any suggestions or
comments on the Virus Questions or is everyone in the patch !
