Re: Vine Split


Doug,
I had the same thing happen to 2 of my AG's, except
the split wasn't quite that big. I just packed the split
with a paste of Captan mixed with a little water and
since it was so close to the ground I was able to cover
the entire wound with dirt. The plants continued on and
now has mains out 20 feet or so. The only difference is
my split was on the main stump where the plant first
comes out of the ground, like the whole plant was laying
over and that is a sad sight when you first encounter it.
I tended the wound, piled on the dirt and said "you'll
make it, or you won't". I'm sure that's why I planted so
many AG's, I was afraid that that sort of thing was
gonna happen all along. I think maybe we live close
enough to appreciate each others' trials and errors.
