Here's a couple of ideas that crossed my
mind the other day.
Seed Storage:
The 24 count "Excedrin" bottles contain a
small cylinder that has desicant in it. I plan
to save seeds in these bottles with that
little desicant thing and possibly add a small
amount of Captan to prevent fungus from
developing.
Pumpkin Pallet:
The other day I was unpacking a new plotter at
work and saved the bubble wrap and styrofoam
packing peanuts from it. I filled a large zip lock
bag with the peanuts, taped up the closure, and
after removing a small portion of the soil from
beneath my largest pumpkin, gently slid it under
it. Yes, it will flaten as it gains weight but it won't
just be laying on the ground. It also allowed me
to remove a good size rock just under the top of
the ground that would have been embedded in the
underside of the pumpkin in due time.
