Help for fellow math illiterates

>Over The Top

># Lbs.= 0.0000795 times (inches) to the power of 2.76  -

>#Lbs. = 0.00152 times (circumference) to the power of 2.614 -

Both equations were at first puzzling to this hapless math illiterate. Then there was the matter of dealing with those arcane symbols on my pocket calculator.

At first I tried multiplying inches by the factor, but that didn't work. Then I discovered things worked much better if I moved the closing brackets to the end of each formula - ie. - worked out the power on the inches first, then multiplying that total by the factor -  - VOILA!

Thus:

For a circumference of 39":

39 to the 2.61374 power = 14,408.846.
Then 14,408.846 times .001517 = 21.85822 lbs

For an OTT of 96":

96 to the 2.76 power = 295847.97.
Then 295847.97 times .0000795 = 23.5199 lbs

Hope this helps.
