Re: California GPC Site
The GPC Weigh-off is October 3. Registration will begin at 7:00 a.m. at
the Elk Grove Park. There will be a $3 all you can eat pancake breakfast
for all those early risers put on by a local youth group. There will be
a full day of family events, hay rides, live entertainment, children's
carnival games, 4H petting zoo, old-time small engine club displays,
craft booths, scarecrow contests, pumpkin patch and more. Weigh-off to
begin approximately between 9:30 and 10:00 a.m. Will be sending out
flyers within the next couple of weeks to the California growers.
Concerning scarecrow contest, those of you artsy folks are welcome to
enter a scarecrow. Possible entry fee (approx. $5) for the scarecrow
contest, but committee still reviewing details.
